3 TIPS TO PREPARE FOR THE DAY OF COMPLETION!
“Completion day,” means the day you pay the remaining balance, sign the new Title Deeds in front of a Notary, and receive the keys to move into your new home.
Here are 3 tips to prepare for the day of completion:
Ensure your funds are readily available in your Spanish bank account.
Request a statement of accounts from your Lawyer showing the exact amount you have outstanding to pay. It’ll also tell you how payment is to be made. Be aware: You’ll be making more than one payment. Your outstanding amount will be divided between your vendor, the Notary and Land registry fees, Property Transfer Tax and your Lawyer’s fees.
Schedule an early appointment with your Spanish bank for the day of completion, in order to collect your requested payments, i.e. Bank Cheques.
Remember you’ll need identification! Passport, T.I.E. and/or N.I.E. certificate.
